what is
spray foam insulation?
We proudly use and highly recommend Icynene spray on foam. Mixed on site, Polyurethane spray foam is an insulation material that offers the highest R-value per inch and eliminates gaps in the building envelope, common with traditional pre-cut insulation. This means total mitigation of moisture, drafts, noise and other environmental effects. Benefit from lower utility bills for both heating and cooling due to the total insulating nature of the foam. This means you and your family will enjoy the comfort of more consistent indoor temperatures and superior air quality.
Please refer to the image at the bottom of the page, where you can see some of the major sources of air leaks in the common home. Using spray foam allows you to create an air tight environment and it assist in sealing off those hard to access areas throughout your home. Other valuable aspects of Icynene spray foam are that it helps prevent uncontrolled outdoor air infiltration of pollutants, dust and seasonal allergens such as pollen. Spray foam insulation resists moisture transmission and condensation better than non-foam insulation. Condensation inside the building envelope not only develops harmful mold and mildew but also deteriorates vital inner-envelope building structure. Last but certainly not least, spray foam eliminates spacing for infiltration of particulates or sound waves, reducing noise transfer and sound penetration. Used correctly in a new build, remodel or retrofit, an Icynene spray foam insulated home can use smaller heating ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) units, saving even more money initially and more over time in energy savings.
Polyurethane spray foam insulation can actually pay for itself over time with these savings.
